Welcome to the Los Angeles South Bay Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated

It is my honor to serve as President of a chapter grounded in legacy, strengthened by sisterhood, and committed to purposeful service. Since our chartering in August 1966, the women of LASB have remained steadfast in advancing Delta’s mission through scholarship, service, and social action—meeting the needs of our community with excellence and care.

Over the past year and a half, our chapter has experienced renewed energy and meaningful engagement across generations. We have been intentional about fostering an inclusive culture where every Soror’s voice is valued, strengthening our bonds while elevating our collective impact.

This commitment to unity and excellence was affirmed at the 2025 Farwest Regional Retreat, where our chapter was humbled to receive several awards recognizing our service and leadership.

These honors included President of the Year, first place honors for the Social Action and Physical and Mental Health committees, and third place for Delta GEMS/Academy, International Awareness and Involvement, and Arts and Letters Committees. We are grateful for this recognition and remain committed to serving with humility and purpose.

Our service work is rooted in action. Signature initiatives have included our Soror Appreciation Day where approximately $100,000 in grocery store gift cards were given to several Chapters in the Farwest Region to support in the battle against food insecurities. Our Community Wellness Festival serving hundreds of residents with physical and mental health resources; ongoing voter education and civic engagement efforts; food distribution; youth mentoring and development through Delta GEMS and the Delta Academy; and global service initiatives supporting international awareness and humanitarian outreach are all meaningful and impactful signature programs we are proud of. These programs reflect our commitment to holistic wellness, education, advocacy, and empowerment.

As we prepare to celebrate our 60th Anniversary in August, we do so with deep gratitude for the visionary women who laid our foundation and excitement for the future we continue to build together. This milestone year offers an opportunity not only to honor our history, but to recommit ourselves to bold service, innovative programming, and leadership development for generations to come.
